Nightclubbing ( Rus Nochnoklubny ) - the fifth studio album by American singer Grace Jones , released in 1981. This is the second album of her trilogy Compass Point and the best sales in the discography of the singer, thanks to the successful single «I've Seen That Face Before (Libertango)» and «Pull Up to the Bumper».
Grace Jones was looking for his musical style and image in the 1970s and 80s , the clicking sound from disco to rock and reggae. Experiments with the new wave of style she demonstrated on the album Warm Leatherette in 1980. Album brought her critical acclaim , and the singer has decided to once again collaborate with Chris Blackwell and Alex Sedkin on their second album , which they recorded at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas.
The album includes songs from different bands and artists reoriented reggae , in particular Flash and the Pan, Bill Withers , Iggy Pop and Astor Piazzolla , including several new compositions , written in collaboration with Jones. Three songs were written by Barry Reynoldsonom , which later, Jones will work on the album Living My Life ( 1982). One song «Demolition Man» written by Sting , who later writes it with his band The Police album Ghost in the Machine. Impressive rhythm section , which was included in most of the songs , worked out by many musicians , including the duo Sly and Robbie, Barry Reynoldsona Mickey Chung , Yuzyaha " Velcro " Thompson , who together were better known as Compass Point Allstars.
Photo for the album cover made stylist Jean-Paul Gude , Jones is in a black jacket Armani with a cigarette in his mouth. Complements flettop hairstyle , which became a model of style brand Jones emphasizes its androgynous image .
