Description:
Rattle That Lock ("Gremi Zamkom") - the fourth solo album of David Gilmour, released on September 18, 2015. The release of the album will be followed by a short tour of Europe in the fall of 2015 and America in the spring of 2016.
The album was recorded in Medina Studio and on Astoria.
The title single of the album was released on July 17, 2015 and is available for download in digital format. The inspiration for writing music was the jingle, which is preceded by announcements of the French SNCF railway company. David recorded it on his iPhone when he visited friends in Provence and used it as a sample. When he called the author, the French composer Mikel Bumendil, he did not believe the call, counting him for a rally. Lyric was written by Gilmore's wife Polly Samson, inspired by the second book of Milton's Lost Paradise. In the recording of the song, Liberty Choir took part ("The Chorus of Freedom"), where, in addition to professional vocalists, seven former prisoners from the London prison of Wandsworth sang. In this prison in 2011 spent four months foster son of Gilmore Charlie, Polly's son. David said: "Charlie's experience influenced us and made us learn more about the British prison system. And also made me think whether we can personally do something to improve the condition of prisoners and their rehabilitation. We have become part of a useful initiative and we hope that our example will inspire others. " The couple created a fund to help the prisoners and composed this song.
