◎简　　介　

　　以风靡美国的垒球为题，片中柯斯纳扮演一个退休队员，负责训练北哥连拿洲一队不知名球队，队员中以反叛的提姆罗宾斯最具潜能，苏珊莎兰登扮演一个细心聪明的女球迷，认为自己应该每季与该队一名球员同住，以协助他成长。

故事讲述一个棒球接球员很多年前在大球队打过一阵，现常年屈居二流球队，如今已人到中年，打球只是为了兴趣。但是，上级派给他培养接班人的任务，而这个新手性格怪异，傲慢无礼，但才华横溢。科斯特纳必须赢得他的心，同时他又爱上了一个有钱的女球迷。
