An amazing film. It's unbelievable that after so many years much of the lead glass windows remains in tact. You'll recognize a few from the movie Titanic, notably Bill Paxton. I would have liked it to be longer.

Good documentary. This was interesting to watch during the submersible tragedy.

This film was masterfully, and respectfully created. What an extraordinary journal to have for the future, and to see and still appreciate the elegantly crafted works on this ship. To pair it with how life may have been lived before the tragedy was a touching tribute. To pay homage to the silent and selfless ones who knew that they would not live was done so meaningfully. Thank you to all who were involved in this beautiful tribute to this incredible ship and to the people who lived and died on that fateful night.

Really cool to see how they travel through Titanic. Seeing things that hasn't been seen since it went down. They add pictures upon the images they see, so what you're seeing makes sense. Really worth watching if you like Titanic.

This item arrived quickly Via Amazon prime.

The picture quality of this Blu-ray is tremendous. While the footage captured by the ROV's is obviously low-end video, everything that was shot with film cameras both above and below the waterline looks absolutely fantastic. On a large screen television and with this level of detail, it is by far the clearest I have ever seen the ship itself, and an unbelievable viewing experience.

I cannot comment on the 3D disc, as I do not have a 3D Blu-ray player. I found no issues with the audio. Everything sounded perfectly clear. There are two different versions of the film included on the disc. The first is the theatrical edition which I believe runs around 60 minutes. The second is the extended version which runs slightly over 90 minutes, as I recall. I never noticed any footage included in the extended version that felt unnecessary or uninteresting, and I would definitely say it is the preferable version to watch.

The only negative aspect of the film I could personally find was the forced acting in certain instances. As this is supposed to feel like a documentary, and it is indeed filmed like one, to have individuals (who are supposed to be acting like themselves) giving obviously written and rehearsed dialogue and situations, adds a bit of cheesiness and detracts from the authenticity of the experience at times and in ways that it shouldn't.

All in all, it's still an immense experience. As a Blu-ray, it's absolutely fantastic. As a Titanic experience, it's immense. The DVD version I was used to simply fails to do justice to the Blu-ray version of this film. As a person who is a Titanic enthusiast, I definitely recommend picking up your copy of this as they are getting more difficult to find, and even more expensive. This is the closest you can get to the real thing without actually being there. If you get the opportunity to see this on Blu-ray and on a large screen, don't hesitate. For me, the experience was worth every penny.

Loved this documentary. I would never do this, but it is fascinating to watch, especially after what happened to the Titan sub.

We watched it just out of our mutual interest in the Titanic story. The main reason for watching was to learn something new and to see parts of the shop we had not seen in other specials.

I purchased "Ghosts of the Abyss" from Amazon Instant Video shortly after I watched my new, 4K restored Blu-ray version of the 1997 movie "Titanic." As I began viewing "Ghosts of the Abyss," I was hoping to see a documentary about the actual exploration of the "Titanic" shipwreck. That is "kinda-sorta" what I saw, although not in the way I hoped. "Ghosts of the Abyss" seemed to me to be more of a travelogue to the "Titanic" site hosted by movie actor Bill Paxton, who had a starring role in the film. To me, Paxton seemed more interested in showing off his personal experiences as a member of the dive team than in discussing the exploration of the "Titanic."

"Ghosts of the Abyss" is nevertheless an enjoyable viewing experience. Just don't expect to glean a lot of scientific information from it. Recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars No Subtitles!!...and movie is more about James Cameron &Co than Titanic itself!

This review has two parts: FIRST The Blu Ray Region B for Australia produced by Viavision here in Australia, came with the cover stating that it has English subtitles for hearing impairing as well as French. Well don't have any. Contacted Viavision as per back cover and they sent me an email saying that the Blu ray doesnt have any subtitles but the DVD does. Well then don't put something in the Blu ray cover then! Viavision advised to get refund from Amazon which Amazon did, so thanks to the refunds department (By the way I use subtitles as I do have a bit of hearing loss on my right ear and also English is my second language and sometimes it is hard to understand when they talk softly or usetechnical words or colloquialisms).
SECOND: This movie is A LOT about James Cameron and mates and crew going in their submersibles and battling anxiety rather than the Titanic itself. Some video is HD and is ok, but some taken by those underwater robots is like video taking by an outdated mobile phone (shocking quality actually). I read reviews of "Titanic at 100 Years 3D" by the History Channel, and so I bought it and WOW!! Even though it is only 45 minutes, it is 45 minutes of awesome HD 3d footage!! ....and has subtitles!!!
